Rumors had it by pageant buffs that Karla dared to wear this evening gown without an underwear. Buffs said the dark shade on Karla's below, seen in the pic above, is her pubic hair. Some insisted it's her skimpy undies. Karla Bautista is a graduate of Mass Communication from University of the Philippines-Cebu. She is now one of the top ramp models in Cebu and the current print ad model of one of the leading motorcyles in the country. A year after grieving her mother's death, Karla Bautista was crowned Bb.Pilipinas-World 2004, a dream her mother wanted her to be. Bautista was tasked to represent the Philippines to the Miss World Pageant 2004 in Sanya, China where there were about more than 100 beautiful women from different countries of the world, vying for one of the most coveted global beauty titles. Before she went to Sanya for the pageant, Karla underwent lots of trainings in Colombia. As she went through the early stages of the stiff competition, Karla wasn't heard as one of the heavy favorites. Luckily as a good sign, as the pageant progressed, she was named as one of the runners-up in the beach babe competition, a fasttrack event and equivalent to swimsuit competition of Miss Universe pageant. Precisely, the winner of that category automatically advanced to the semi-finals. In some of the fasttrack events, Karla was among the top 20 highest scorers in the talent competition but failed to make the cut in the fashion model competition. Karla didn't lose hope eventhough she hadn't able to win any of those categories. Strikingly, she impressed the pageant organizers and the panel of judges as well with her good communication skills in English as she was chosen as one of the very few to stand as speakers to discuss about some relevant causes of the Miss World Organization infront of the press. During the finals night, Karla ended up as one of the top 5 finalists along with Misses Poland, USA, Peru, and Dominican Repulic. She was named as Miss World 2004-Continental Queen of Asia & Oceania, which was a high recognition indeed and a thing that Cebuanos and other Filipinos should be proud of.
