Subject: Miss Hickory America and Little Miss Hickory America

I am the proud new director of the Miss Hickory America Pageant system as of the first of this month. Debra Good will no longer be doing these prelims to the Miss North Carolina. The Little Miss Pageant will be held in The last part of Oct. or the First week in November and the Miss Hickory we are finalizing the date sometime in Feb. We also will be doing the Teen Miss Hickory America on the same date of the Miss Hickory. This will be a newday for Pageants I am proud to say. Only Credited judges through the state of Nc and none of these Judges will be local. We will not score on Glitz or rhinestones. The winner will carry a clean package and posses talent. She will be scored in age aprop. wear cleanliness of outfit and overall stage presence. We will hold manditory practices the day before and will have meetings after the pageant to go over individual score sheets and master score sheets and judges will give one on one feedback of what they did or did not like. (this should elimate bashing i hope)
I have been in the pageant system for 16 years and there seems to be a need for a good clean fun pageant and a chance to advance our youth. For the Miss Hickory there will be a scholorship of 1000.00 for winner 250.00 for 1st runner and 150.00 for 2nd runner. Also a clothes allowance for the North Carolina state pageant.. There is tons that still needs to be ironed out and all the rules and regulations are being written now.
