~*~He sighs and winces as he shifts his position, now he felt the pain more than ever, his dad would have his ass for this, He didn't want to be late, and most of all he didn't want to loose this ranch, the horses would be slaughtered if he lost, he forces such thoughts from his mind, his mind wanders to Marie, he sighs, she was the girl of his dreams, he didn't deserve her, he didn't deserve much, He could imagine how she must have it, everything must be so nice for her, he wished secretly things were simpler.., His horse nudges his arm gently he moves his arm over and rubs the soft pelt of the colt, the horse liked the touch, he liked the companionship, he layed back on the log and forced all thoughts from his head, closing his eyes, his mind relivez the moment at the olympics, they passed the first time around, the stallion felt great, the second time out something was wrong...he triped after the third jump, Jake could feel something was off, he slowed a pace and looked at the forshoes, nothing was loose, then they neared the drop, the stallion landed wrong and stumbled before giving in and going down in his knees, the noble elegant head went down, eyes looked around, he managed to drag himself from under the massive body, cradling the head in his lap, the ambulance came and carted off Dream, he couldn't bear to give the OK fo have him put down, he brought the stallion back to the ranch to let him live here...he could walk, but would never run again~*~
