I found your post very interesting. I grew up in a family that was full of girls and women. My mother and aunts were all divorced and both of my grandfathers died when I was very young. Since there are so few males in my family it is easy to see the difference in how my male cousins (and all males in fact) are treated and how the younger male family members have been raised. In addition, I now have 2 sons, which makes this information especially important to me. Choosing to do some things differently with my sons has led to some feedback from family members. In the end I know that it up to my husband and I to decide how we want to raise our children, but societal pressure sure can be tough!
