Piaget's theory struck a chord with me as well. Thinking about interactions with adolescents (and some adults) in this manner helps me to try to develop interventions and make suggestions that might be better followed and understood. It is also helpful to me when I am helping my son with his homework. Sometimes when I am explaining something to him I realize that he's not "getting it." Piaget's theory helps me to be able to pause and consider how to present the information in a concrete manner as opposed to being so abstract. (He appears to be in the Concrete Operational Stage.) Sometimes this is difficult for me and I am grateful to his teacher who appears to be able to do this very well!

I enjoyed class this past weekend and look forward to increasing my knowledge base in this area.

Have a great weekend!
