So far, I have also found class quite engaging and enjoyable. I believe that the chemistry of the class allows us to diverge and illuminate important social issues. I find this type of class to be both rewarding and intellectually stimulating. I wanted to post also with my opinions on the sick wife dilemma. I know that both faith and religion are both extremely powerful and empowering. I just found it interesting that there was a divide in the class. Half found that the right thing to do was just follow gods plan and prey that it includes the wife surviving, while the other half was sure that stealing was appropriate given the situation. I was reflecting on what course of action I would do, and I ended up with I don't know. I think it is really easy to preach that you would steal or not. But, I believe that when you are actually faced with the reality of the situation your course of action might differ from your preconceived notions. Another aspect I was reflecting on is morality and religion. I always assumed that these coincided perfectly. To act in a manner that religion supports is to act morally. I am not so sure about this anymore. Perhaps acting morally is just what you as an individual see as the best course of action. I am sure we could of talked on this subject for hours without any resolutions. I just wanted to write some of my reflections.
