Hello, Just wanted to pass along the message that the Alzheimer's Memory Walk will be September 29, 2007 @ Darton College. The Walk begins @ 9 A.M. I have decided to enter my family as a Team, I know it is short notice but anyone that would be interested in joining us for the walk, we'd love to have you! I spoke to the Alzheimer's chairman on Friday and he said that anyone that planned on competing in the pageant that came to the walk would be recognized. Also, this is EXCITING news to me....this year the Girl Scouts are gonna lead the walk BUT next year (next September) GUESS WHO WILL LEAD THE WALK???? MY "COTTON PICKIN' QUEENS". We are planning a FUN reign for our queens. With parades, events, and ofcourse we will do whatever we can to help with the Alzheimer's Association. I think this would be a great way for you as queens to show off your title and make a difference in someone else's life as well. What if there was no Alzheimer's disease?

What if progression of the disease could be stopped so people could live longer, more independent lives?

You can help make this a reality by joining our annual Cotton Pickin' Pageant to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.

When you enter this pageant, you are raising funds for research to develop better Alzheimer treatments and for programs to help those affected by this still fatal disease.

Please join us to raise money and awareness about the urgent need to end Alzheimer’s.

Better yet, be a "Queen For A Cure"

If someone you love has been affected by Alzheimer's Disease and would like to enter this pageant in memory of him/her please let us know and we will be glad to announce this persons name while you are on stage.

My family and I are excited to honor our dad, Theron Clements, with this pageant. For those of you that have had a loved with one Alzheimer's you know that thier minds tend to drift back to an early time in thier life. During the last stages of Daddy's battle with Alzheimer's, he was sure that we was "pickin' cotton". So sure that he even had the mules in place and was fussing at my sister and me because we weren't pickin' the cotton fast enough. So that is how we came up with the name of our "cotton pickin' pageant". :)

Please let me know if you have any questions...
