1. I believe Robert Johnson's deal with the devil is Faustian because according to the myth Robert Johnson was walking along the crossroads and got the devil to tune his guitar for his soul. A Faustian is sacrificing spiritual values for power, knowledge, or material gain.
2. Hoodoo is someone or something that brings bad luck upon someone. Hoodoo ties into Robert Johnson because during Johnson's experience in the Bayou country, he studied blues. This is also where Johnson may have studied the secrets of the Hoodoo root doctor.
3. I believe that Robert Johnson and the crossroads is a metaphor for all musicians. It’s a decision that a musical artist must make to prove to themselves that he or she is completely devoted to music and will find that out by which path they choose to take.
4. If I were to hang around at the crossroads, I would wait to achieve success in a music career, like Robert Johnson I would also get my guitar tuned by the devil because I’m not the greatest guitar player. I would want to achieve musical success so I could travel the world and share my music with anyone.
