No, a song like Camptown Races should not be considered racist. During that era, music like camptown races was a form of entertainment appealing to both black and whites alike. Yes, the lyrics could be considered racist but the style and play of the actual song is playful. If the song was released today i would consider it racist but because it was written during such a different era where beliefs on this issue were widespread it is not racist.
