I bought a "floating week" with my fiancee back in around 1999-2000. Nothing special - just a chance of an Autumn break in the sun.

I'm sure regulars on this board won't be surprised to hear the usual tales of woe - unfortunately I've only just found this or might have saved a fair bit of money.

My question is - is there any way out of this without spending more(over my dead body)as has been suggested today by the ever-so-nice "customer service" man on an impromptu call "to see how things were going". Unsurprisingly this led to a suggestion that we spend another �1700 to upgrade to a fixed week, which
"should make it easier to sell". No, I didn't believe it either.

We've reached the stage where we're willing to write off what I've lost, just to get rid of the grief and ongoing cost - we're getting married and planning a family and just want an end to the con.

Any guidance on the above and possible avoidance of the loss would be most welcome.
