 Another thing to bear in mind is that, if they did take you to court, as a private defendant, you can have the case transferred to your local court so they have all the trouble of travelling. For this reason, large, centralised organisations very rarely actually pursue a case in the courts, despite all their threats.

You can make a claim in any county court, but be aware that the courts can be transferred if the defendant lives closer to another court.
