I have watched the clouds dissipate into a stream of rainwater that trickled through the plants and into the shallow hearts of men. I have witnessed the fading leaves and the ground swallowing them whole, stripping the trees of their enchantment in the cold sun. I have seen the world revolutionize from spring to autumn, from winter to summer and back again... I have seen so much, and yet I understand so little.

I remember the way her voice rang through me in a fitful sigh, the way my heart burst from my chest in crystalline rainbows that called to me in a dream. But that was all I ever was--a dream. The cosmos never loved me... They just loved her memories of me. They loved the way I clung to her shadow and hoped and wished every night that ever meant something to me...

But my eyes feel so heavy in the dawn. Like the cracking of the sky on a midsummer morning, I wilt in her conscious like a madwoman that somehow forgot her planner in a dewdrop diner made for the fairies of nightmares. Yes, those places wore me out like a frayed knot... and my words run empty in her land of legends.

My well is a fevered den of words, so jumbled up and mixed down with revelations and phrases that are supposed to change the world yet somehow feel thwarted in the coming of winter. She holds hands with me and yet, she holds hands with nothing. I feel the seeds that will one day be rained upon by the clouds in her eyes, the melting of a shadow, the scream of another dream that got cracked upon my slate.

She told me she wrote because of me. I told her that I dream because of her. She calls me "Muse", and yet I feel so tangled when my tongue finds poetry in it's throat. Like the ghost of a sun that swore to shine forevermore, I find myself so penned through, so paper-cut, so infused with sultry sayings that my fingers linger on the aftermath of her inspiration... and i'm just a wild ride, seeing so much through those vistas... and understanding so little...

Kristen

Welcome the the Motel!

This was quite and introduction. Like my good friend
Lisa you seem to have the ability to pull the reader
in and feel as if they are sitting on a porch drinking
coffee listening to you tell your story.

Great subject matter. As writers we all understand
ebbs and tides of the mysterious, wonderful blessing
we call our MUSE. Such a pleasure to find this here.
It's my hope that you find our motel to be a place
of friendship, comfort, and most of all inspiration.

We are pleased to have you join us.

Andy and Sasha..... speaking for the entire

motel staff and community of muse mongers.

A Copy of Your Story Will Be Placed In our Hall of Fame
Congratulations

Well Done!
