] Date Posted: 07:05:47 11/08/07 Thu OK, this is the space to let it all hang out. Well, not all of it because that would chase some of the women I happen to care a great deal about away. In any case this is a blog forum. You post what's on your mind with no concern for boundaries (save profanity and sexual content). With that in mind I will do just that. I am going to release some things that are sitting inside me here that I feel I need to get out. If ever any of you feel the same way just let it go, right here, with no concern for retribution. What we don't wish to do is to assassinate people who visit this forum or to enter into domains that cause friction and bad will between creative poets or artists that gather here to relax and share their muse. I created the Muse Monger Motel about two years ago. My goals were extremely limited. All I really wanted to do was to create a soft spot on the net for me and my friends (some of whom are people that read the board and never post) to be able to drop a poem or two into once in awhile. Well, my life got turned in another direction and I took a sabbatical from the net traveling for a bit which I needed to do at the time. During this time Sasha and Janel and a few others still contributed to the board. I returned home and begin to surf the net again. I was pleased to find that some of my loyal and dear friends had kept the board active while I was away. There are times when you just sit back and think about how lucky you are to have met people on the Internet that truly care about you a great deal and that would take the time to make sure that your site stayed active while you dealt with issues you needed to deal with. I remember sitting here thinking "Wow how blessed am I to have these people in my life." Sasha is a very, very, dear friend of mine. We connected because of our poetry years ago. From there we became friends. There have been times when we haven't talked much over the years but, I have always thought of Sasha during those times and felt an absence in my heart and soul when I had no contact with her. At one point we had a mis- understanding and I did what Andy does at times, I overreacted and things got a little testy. Well, I realized that I needed Sasha back in my life so I went to her and apologized and told her how much she means to me. Since then I made a commitment in my heart to never let that happen again so no matter what happens here in this forum between any Tom, Dick, Jane, or Sue, one thing will remain constant; Sasha and I are united through our disagreements as friends, partners, poets, souls, hearts, and above all else a deep and meaningful respect for each other's sense of humanity. With all that said, the time came when I was not feeling the right energy in a few other boards that I had grown to love. I sat back and thought about what POETRY means to me and realized it means so much that I had to find a way to keep the friends I have active in my Internet life and still be able to devout the time to this wonderful art that I have such a great and deep passion for. It didn't take me long to figure out that it was time to ask my dear friend if she would like to become a co-owner of the Muse Mongers Motel. Sasha gladly accepted without terms or conditions or even questions. She trusts me and I trust her and so the rest was easy. What Sasha didn't know at the time is that I knew I could join with her to create a place that would become something very special. I have a lot of experience in the computer world and knew things she had no idea I knew. So, here we are, a little over a month after joining as partners and I look at this place and it fills me with a feeling that words here just won't cover. We knew we wanted a place where COMMUNITY is the essential element. We knew that we had a great base of poet friends to call on to get started. What we didn't really know is the time and selfless commitment that some of our friends would invest in the motel. We both are extremely thankful for all of your work and dedication. Without you this place would simply be NOTHING more than another stop on an ever growing Internet highway. It isn't that at all. In such a short amount of time it has become vibrant, rewarding, soulful, and above all else a warm COMMUNITY. Yesterday, was a long day for me at the Motel. I have some issues with someone who has posted here for quite some time. I don't feel that person is right for our community based on a number of things. I don't dislike the person or feel bitter or angry towards them at all. I have too much experience witnessing the energy of a board switch from being productive to something less than what it should always remain. With that conclusion reached I realized that both Sasha and I need to protect this environment as we would our home and family. Some people will fit in here and find the motel to be their favorite stop on the net. Others will simply not fit in for whatever reason. It's a sad realization to have to come to but it's a fact of reality. I thought I might take this time to let you all know what Sasha and I feel the motel should be about so that if you happen to be new here and come across this thread you might lnow if you will or will not fit in before you invest your time. We want the Muse Mongers Motel to be a place where you can come and kick back and relax. We want you to be positive towards others in your replies. We expect our guests to be cordial and giving. We don't have any rules like so many other sites that have you go through a long list of guidelines. It's not our way to do that. There is no one poem for two comment rule or warning about this or that. We expect people in the great spirit of community and poetry to know that they should be encouraging and fair in their balance of poems to comments. We are so overjoyed that without rules we have been able to create the atmosphere we intended to simply by relying on the guests and contributors to use their own judgment. This is not a message board at all. This is a COMMUNITY! It is a place where our poet friends we know well and some who have just come aboard can read and grow in their muse. We will not accept negative comments or bad vibes from anyone. We will protect this environment with every beat of our hearts. Sasha and I talk behind the scenes and I just want to let you all know how much you all mean to us (not just as poets but as friends). We look forward to a bright and wonderful journey here and thank you all for being WHO YOU ARE! Life is so full of turmoil and stress. The Muse Mongers Motel is the place we want you to come to for healing and to rejuvenate your senses. We thank you all! Your poetry is wonderful but, your souls are beautiful and that my friends makes all the difference in the world. If at anytime anyone has suggestions or issues please feel free to contact Sasha, myself, Paul, Janel, or Christine. Our staff is hand picked for good reason and we expect to add to it in the very near future. It's with these words I will close: If not for all of you we would never have been able to do what we have done in such a short amount of time so please never forget what you all mean to our staff and to the ever growing wonderful spirit of OUR motel. My best to all of you, andy spaschak [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 10:57:40 11/08/07 Thu . ~ This truly smiles my heart, and my morning, Andz we have such a warm little community here already... the M3 has come so far in such a short time, and I am stoked to be a part of that, but even more so, that you asked me to join you in this journey. The spirit of this place is something that tickles the soul the moment you arrive... it says Come in, kick off your shoes and make yourself at home.... and I love that! There is so much beauty here, in the poetry and the people, and through word, heart, and soul, we learn about others, and ourselves, along the way, and ya gotta love that! I join you in thanking everybody here who has invested time and energy into our wonderful Motel...you are all cherished. and a great big old thank you, to you, Andz... my partner in rhyme and crime...love ya!!! Bright Blessings and *big-as kiwi hugs* to you ALL!!! Sash xx ![]() |

Date Posted: 14:19:28 11/08/07 Thu Annnnndddyy....My dear, ya know what? I just love it here, and in the beginning of this new collective adventure that you and Sasha had begun, I remember coming in here and feeling "no pressure" to comment, write or express. There are times in my life when I feel I need to be silent, and it is in those times, that I do not do much at all, for whatever reasons life has requested a "quiet time" from me. I love the ambiance, and atmosphere of so many beautiful souls in here. The sense of COMMUNITY that it already embraces in such a short time is awesome. One of the main reasons I come back in here....is because I need a "pressure free zone". Truly it's what works for me, as I have so much going on in my own world, that I need that flexibility! And I've got that here, which makes it awesome! The Motel has truly grown in astounding leaps and bounds because of the hard work and dedication of such wonderful co-owners and staff and members alike. Thank you for bringing the Motel to life! You are all awesome! Love and hugs always, Tammy |

Date Posted: 14:36:57 11/08/07 Thu Andy, This blog, is a tonic. I heartily agree with it in it's entirety. Muse Mongers is now home from home for me and I hope that applies to all our writers. It has been astonishing to see the growth over the last month, a testimony to your undoubted skill and drive to succeed coupled with the feminine touches that Sash has brought, making it a colourful and pleasant place to be. I am sure that I speak for all when I say that it is a pleasure to be on the staff, of what is a leading light in poetry and writing forums. You have my unreserved support, Peace and love, Paul. |
