"Te Reo" means, "The Language" in Maori, my Native tongue ...

I cannot speak Te Reo, but I do love finding Maori phrases online...and here's one I found in the profile of one of our newest friends on Muse Mongers Myspace page..."Roots Provider" a Reggae band

I rere kau mai te awanui mai te kahui maunga ki Tangaroa, ko au te awa, ko te awa ko au!

What little I do know of My Maori Culture, is that Maori strongly identify with their Mountain, and their River, it is as much a part of their Identity as their name

I sooo needed to learn more.

I've come across some really poetic phrases and sayings over the years, and I will share them with you all, in time...I hope you enjoy this one...

*hugs

Sash xx

((Sasha))

This is beautiful my dear. Learning your language and culture is an integral part of you. I too need to learn more of my own language of Mohawk, but I dare say it's such a complicated language, that learning French was much much more easy! LOL

I enjoy the share here.

Love and hugs,
Tammy

Sash, As you know I love the feel and softness of the Maori language and have been practicing rolling my arse....sorry R's. LOL. I thought you might like this English translation Hon.

"I say old girl, it's nearly eleven,Is it not time to partake of a spot of tea?"

Which translates into;

"Bloddy hell! I'm parched, bung the kettle on babe!"

I hope it gives the flavour of our traditional Pommie language!....More power to the Bulldog Grrrrrrr!

Love and hugs,

Paul.
