We see it all in our lifetime - friends and family members passing thru this life to soon, new lives beginning, love blossoming despite trials and tribulations.

Ever wonder if we are supposed to live half the stuff we do? If we are really supposed to view the world as we do? If we are supposed to love the way we do....

In my lifetime (and I am still a young woman), I've seen life come and go, as well as love and friendships. There's a phrase that everyone uses, "more than my fair share". I laugh at that, you know. Who are we to say what is "my fair share" in this lifetime? In any lifetime?

We are born, we live, we love, we (sometimes) grow old, we (sometimes) die young, but we ARE. Who gives us the poo-poo platter on silver-plate and who gives us a silver spoon?

Point in case, (smile now, you knew this was coming), I have a friend (friend 1) who has a friend (friend 2) who has cancer.

Friend 1 says that friend 2 has been given more than his fair share of trials and tribulations.

Friend 2 says that it doesn' t matter as long as he continues to be given whatever it is that makes him live life the way he's supposed to.

Of course, friend 1 thinks friend 2 is just giving up on life (trust me, friend 2's cancer is in remission at this time and he says that he's gonna live to a ripe old age of 106), and friend 2 thinks that if friend 1 is gonna limit himself to thinking that his "fair share" is just a portion of what he's been "allotted" then friend 1 is not living up to his true potential.

I like that the two friends keep bickering about this issue. They keep bringing other friends into the picture, they all discuss their points and it grows, and grows. Of course, I think friend 2 is awesome in his thinking....and friend 1 needs to open himself a little bit more (okay, way more) to life and living.

There are so many friend 1's out there....so many people not opening themselves to the fact that, yeah, we're given shit in our lifetime....by others, by ourselves and by our creator(s). It's what makes us, US.

But ya know, friend 2 is right. It doesn't matter who or what gives us shit. It's what we do with it that counts...shit pie, or shit platter on roses...or even, fuel for the future while lining our pockets and hems in silver and gold - whatever it is, it's all about what we create for ourselves from (or with) it. It's what makes us go on....even when friends try to give us shit for living our very short-lived lives as we see fit.

*Smile*

That's it. Pure and simple. I told friend 2 last night that I have been given a lot of shit for being myself in a crowded room of friend 1's. Ya know what he said to me?

He said, "Just tell them you don't give a shit."

*Laughing*

That's it for my babble...everyone have a great weekend! ~Hugs~
