Violation of the heart

As I look
through the pages
of this
book
I find
myself
wondering
what was going
through your head,
I mean,
really,
what made you
think
it would be
okay
to change
my drawing
and make it
your own?

I worked
so hard on that,
I concentrated
on every detail,
I made sure
it was
absolutely
perfect
and in
my eyes
it was.

But I guess
in your eyes
it wasn't,
since
you
felt the need
to alter
the original.

I have
never felt
so violated
as I do now,
deep inside
it hurts
beyond
repair.

It came
from my soul
and it was
my heart's
creation,
it was
a part of me,
a part of
my soul.

But that
obviously
meant nothing
to you,
if it did;
you wouldn't
have made it
your own.

And now
I look through
these pages
with disgust,
it was
supposed
to be
a treasured
keepsake,
but now
it's just
a remembrance
of pain,
a violation
of my heart,
my soul,
my dreams,
my life.
