and we were fire...

Seasons change
and Mother smiles pretty...
reminiscent
of another time
in another skin
yet somehow
we�ve always known
that the shiver-kiss
of autumn
would burn the
golden ghosts
of summer

that the winds
of Shallyn
would whisper our bones
to raise the flesh
of memory
and we would dance wicked
once again
behind closed eyes

back pressed to bark
and bare feet
caress cool dirt
stroking your reality
your thoughts, spinning
in my lap
and the ache
of our beginning
revisited
in braille

then we broke free�
and we were fire
bleeding
from the limbs of life
and we spoke
sacred
in lovers tongue

and as our colours
fell to earth
like stolen moments
of the
long ago kind
so too, love�s liturgy
was peeled bare
by the grace of the gods
one leaf at a time
