Mary J. Heaston Anderson age 86, of Indianapolis, died Feb. 4, 2008. She was born Jan. 23, 1922, the daughter to Hershel and Iva V. (Smith) Heaston, both of whom have preceded her in death. Mary was a Reading and Math tutor, retiring in 1995, after working for IPS school systems for 25 years, of which 20 years was at School #14. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sherman Anderson, and two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Heaston. Her survivors include her children, Sherman L. (Shirley) Anderson, Patricia A. (Jerry) Carney, Vicki J. (John) Liedell, and Deborah K. Carver; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; also beloved dog, Vannie. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 7th at 1pm in Flanner & Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center, where friends may call on Wednesday, Feb. 6th from 4 to 8pm and Thursday 1 hour prior to services. www.flannerbuchanan.com.
