Date Posted: 15:23:31 11/15/07 Thu We need the commute to and from the schools as safe possible. The original plan has Sugar Hill Elem. crossing the same RR tracks to attend Lanier HS and Suwanee crossing the RR track and PIB to get to North Gwinnett HS. This is poor planning. Reposition the elementary school lines to make a safer commute to and from our schools. This little neighborhood road and railroad crossing is not designed for this type of traffic either. State Hwy 20 also needs left turn lights at Suwanee Dam Road and Sycamore Road in order for the buses and car poolers to have a safe way to turn across Hwy 20. Only a few cars get thru each cycle of the redlight. Think of the young, teenage, drivers who will be using these intersections to get to high schools too. They are not safe and there will be fatalities. In fact, this community just experienced this with 2 deaths on PIB in the past month. Our young, inexperienced, drivers, who gain early experience driving to school, need a safer route to school. Keep the young drivers off PIB to get to school. Don't make them cross each other on railroad tracks. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
