HAPPY 50th Wedding Anniversary, JORGE LEON and STELLA MARQUEZ de ARANETA. Hard to believe, that 50 years ago, their wedding was considered the BIGGEST wedding in Colombia in 1962. The late, Los Angeles, photographer CHARLIE SEE had told me, that their wedding cost US $100,000.00, a mere fortune back then. Her father-in-law Don Amado Araneta, gave Stella, $100,000.00 spending money, for their honeymoon, that was spent in Europe. Since that day, 8 September, her life would change forever. She is one of Manila's Grande Dames, and has crossed paths, with the 'Rich-and-Famous' throught her life! This wedding foto, was in every major newspaper here in the USA, and one on the cover of the Long Beach Press Telegram. (This does not happen today!) CONGRATULATIONS to you both, and many more years of happiness together.....!

PS I forgot to mention, that her bridal crown, was the replica of her Miss Colombia-1959 crown and that she also used this same design for her Miss Philippines crown, that she used for a few years!
