Open the Window

My Muse
is a child today
hiding under a tree out there
in my garden.

Lonely child
I have not heeded her call
to come out and play.

For that
she will not speak to me
in words
and I will have to look into
her eyes
and watch her dance.

Fool that I am
safe behind the window pane
safe behind my mask
of self-sufficiency.

Fool that I am
open the window and let her in
these old bones
are in need of a good tumble!

Hello Wilopent

This is just brimming with energy, and childish mischeviousness, even while ignoring her calls. There are days when my real world stops me playing with my muse, and she goes awol for days afterwards.

Loved this.

Max

You know these muse poems are wonderful.

I told Sash and another person not so long
ago that if you can't find you muse then
write about not being able to find it.

It's such a strange thing to many that
it seems to come and go. For me I have
to get myself out of the way and I have
various methods of doing just that.

There are waves of energy that flow through
all of us and it's an uncanny and undefinable
thing that we all experience.

I love these poems because they touch on
something that anyone who loves to write
can relate to.

Well done, window and all!

thanks,
andy

Yes, Andy,
The energy and pull to write does come in waves. I've always felt that. I used to wait for the big ones, but as I've gotten older, I find my muse often tiptoes in on the ripplets, the little splashes and sprinkles, and if I jump in . . . even the shallow water seems full of life.
Thank you!
Hugs,
Wilo

So many times my muse has gone hiding, and we move between missing each other and being glad for the space. Truly a delightful read Wilopent, my little girl (inside) claps, nudges me and says 'see? PLAY WITH ME'. I tell her 'in a garden with fae of peacock feather wings, and a butterfly dragon? sure why not! but not those other dark worlds you want to drag me to, not yet. So there you go, you inspired me lol

Your words ring true, Lily. Thanks for your input. Don't you just love the little Imp when she wants to play?

(((~Wilopent~)))

The muse is fickle, childish, and oh so very much a hard taskmaster/mistress at times, eh? We run and jump to catch up, most of the time we fall down...but it's the journey of growth along the way that inspires us all....excellent write, excellent capture!

So true . .so true,Christine.
You know the deal when it comes to that elusive little muse. She is a patient little thing though . . . no?
