Needles And The Pen

Face distorted against a primordial window,
struggling to escape - to survive.
An opaque perspective,
ambiguous, but
alive.

Death is dead.
It ain’t poetic -
a brain starving to survive.
Dying is indescribable.

I tried.

Needles and the pen keep this wannabe alive.

The forces that push us to survive against everything are the strongest. Different for everyone, when they're no more, death comes more easily.

Powerful scribe, Mick.

"Dying is indescribable.

I tried."

That really struck me golden, so it pleases me to award you today. You moved me!

I applaud this one.

I love fearless poetry
that sits out on the edge
of common thoughts.

This is thought provoking
and very much larger than
it appears on the page.

Glad to see Jess awarded it.

best,
andy

Hello Mick

This does hit hard, and speaks volumes beyond the words. Congrats on the award, your subtly overt verse always resonates way after reading.

Loved this.

Max
