In reply to: pm 's message, "What's up with Tri-Parish all the talk on the Mom's Board" on 07:29:15 02/24/08 Sun

I haven't read all the post - I got on the board to wish all the beautiful winners from yesterday CONGRATS!!! I would like to add to this post. Yesterday morning @ 7:30 AM Mrs. Vickey called me very upset. One of her judges (from Covington - I think) backed out of judging. It is hard enough to get a local judge on 2 hrs. notice - impossible for out-of-town. When I got to the pageant about 9:50 AM - she told me she had made about 15 calls w/no luck at all. Since the pageant started at 10 AM - her choice was to go w/2 Judges (which no one likes - directors hear this all the time) or switch out as divisions come around. Brandy, Tina, Joni, Julie, Christain & myself were there to help. I feel that Vickey did the best she could do in that situation (that the out-of-town Judge left her in). I would also like to add - Judges are hard to come by & a Judge that knows NO ONE is impossible unless you get out-of-state Judges (then there is still a chance because some contestants not only compete local but national also). For a $80.00 pageant - You can not afford a $100.00 judging fee, $150.00 room stay plus their food & gas depending what state they are coming from - this is per judge. I myself have talk w/out-of state judges - If my pageant is $55.00 - $65.00 - to give all that I give at the pageant plus $400.00 - $500.00 per judge (this is for out-of -state) - I could not hold that pageant. All I am saying is - this situation was put on Vickey at 7:30 AM Sat. morning & she just had to make the best of a bad situation. She did what she thought she had to do to make the pageant fair for every contestant.

I want to Congrats all the Beautiful Winners!!! Everyone was just BEAUTIFUL & did an AWESOME JOB!!!

Lots of Pageant Hugs & God Bless - Michelle
