Some wrote of returning home to the farm and having to cut switches --quite a number of them so as to have them ready for when his dad switched him---I see no reason for cutting switches prior to getting switched it seems a kind of meaness--on the part of his dad----I got paddled even in college yrs a few times---but never had to do anything prior---I think antisipetory rituals are meant to be frightening---I just had to have my bare butt ready when it had to happen and that was bad enough---In the future i would get a summer job away from home
