Mark had taken his car to NTB for an oil change and discovered that he also needed his rear disk brakes replaced. The total charges amounted to $680 but they had a promotion on their charge account of "no interest for 6 months" - so Mark placed it on the NTB account.

Mark made the monthly payment and was on schedule to pay it off within the 6 months. He had made 4 payments and then in the 5th month -- something happened. Mark either did not get the statement in the mail or he misplaced it and did not put it with his other bills. The payment was due on the 1st day of the month and Mark did not make the 5th payment.

On the 11th of the month, Mark received a phone message from the charge card company giving him a phone number to call and a code to retrieve a message. Mark retrieved the message informing him that his payment was late. Mark looked through his paid bills and could not find the NTB statement, so he logged onto his online account where he would have scheduled the payment. There was no payment for the current month showing on his online account. Mark immediately scheduled the payment - which included a late fee of $30.

Mark realized that he had been careless and irresponsible. He could not remember whether or not he received the statement but it was a payment he had been making for 4 months. He should have known that the payment was due on the 1st of the month and gone online and scheduled it.

How would you punish Mark for his late payment of the bill (10 days late and $30 late fee)?
