Subject: ::Pack History:: (chapter one for Verda & Pack)

Sorry for the long wait ladies... this portion of the pack history has been typed up for a little while now, i just hadn't gotten around to proofing it. Chapter two is already written, i juts need to type it up for ya'll.

Enjoy!

Chapter One:

The fight taking place wasn't an unused occurrence in my pack. I led a group of opinionated, mouthy wolves. And tempers were always short during the Full Moon. Stephanie and Sandra were snarling viciously, attacking, and then retreating. I watched in silence from the kitchen doorway, arms crossed over my chest. the Den was in a total state of disarray, the cherry coffee table lay in pieces on the floor, glittering in the unnatural light. The day couch was over turned, and it looked as if the back was broken. the area rug was bunched in the middle, where the two wolves were snapping at each others throats. Brandon and Cassidy, another pair of my pack watched anxiously from another doorway. Cassidy hid behind the lightly more dominant male. i didn't have a clue what had started the fight, and i didn't really care. As long as the squabble was contained to the den, and no one else got involved, i saw no reason not to let them fight whatever it was out. The entire thing couldn't have lasted more than 15 minutes,. It ended with Stephanie's teeth fixed firmly around Sandra's jugular, the beaten wolf forced to her back, belly exposed. She whine, pleading with Stephanie not to tighten her hold, not to deliver a killing blow.
In wolf form, Steph was a reddish brown color, and medium in size, compared to the rest of the pack. Werewolves were generally twice the size of our natural kin, and far stronger, faster and more vicious. In the other doorway, Cassidy made a small sound, her pretty, dark brown eyes filled with tears. She was weak, and on the bottom rung in pack hierarchy. Steph heard it, and her snarling increased, her ears flat against her skull. I watched in amusement as her jaw flexed around Sandra's jugular. She didn't let up, as i expected, ad she began gnawing on the smaller female. fights were expected in every pack as power plays were made, and dominance questioned. but once submission was shown, the fight was over. Sandra had given in, tail between her hind legs, submissive. Stephanie should have given the other a nip, and let the fight fade into our distance memories. instead, she was acting as though she were going to kill Sandra.
Some considered me a harsh alpha, but i took good care of my pack, and i could not let this continue any longer. Even in human form a growl rumbled up from my chest and passed bared teeth. I stepped into the room, muscles tense, ready for another fight. there wouldn't be one. To fight me meant eviction from the pack, or death. Stephanie was not a strong enough individual to survive as a leader, and she would not like her execution. At the sound of my snarl, she flicked her gaze in my direction. I don't know if it was the anger in my eyes, my carriage, or the predatory way i moved toward her, but she sensed danger, and released Sandra. Her growl faded into a whine, and she dropped her should to the carpet, and rolled to her back, tail between her legs. Sandra remained in her submissive position, her own whines silenced; no doubt hoping to avoid attention. She need not have worried about drawing my attention, i was focused solely on Steph. I continued to stalk forward, growling as i glared at her. Steph turned her gaze away, being careful to keep her throat bared. A larger crowd had gathered, a call having apparently gone out through the pack. I crouched, lowering my face to sniff at Stephanie's stomach, and move my way up to her throat. With each exhale, her fur parted, allowing glimpses of her soft, tender flesh. All had gone silent. Steph and Sandra were both quiet and still ,my own growling having ceased. No one dared move, except me. i was Alpha, i was queen. I ruled with an iron fist and sharp teeth. my word was law, and Stephanie was not currying favor.
With lightning fast speed, i straddled Steph's prone form, and shifted my jaw, elongating it, until what could only b likened to a wolf's muzzle sprouted from my still human features. The shift took less than 30 seconds, and before that, i had Steph's jugular in my teeth. She yelped in surprise, and tried to dodge the attack, a useless move. I'd already been poised to strike. I copied her actions from moments before, gnawing at her throat, until i felt my lower canines pierce flesh, and slide into her throat. A trickle of blood flowed across my tongue, quickening my heart rate. I inhaled and caught the scent. A hungry, fierce growl erupted from somewhere, and i jerked my head to discover who had issued it. the others were scattered around the room, pressed back against the walls, or hiding behind the doors, eyes wide and frightened. Ever one was silent, and i realized the growl came from my own chest. the sudden move had torn Stephanie's throat, quickening the flow of blood. I knew i was failing into a blood lust, and i didn't try to stop the headlong rush. i dug into Stephanie's throat, teeth tearing muscle, veins, and other tissue. All i wanted was her blood, her flesh in my stomach. Power danced across my ski, and out over my wolves. I could hear some of them, the weaker ones, answering the power, and shifting. none of them sounded like they enjoyed it. Shifting could be a wonderful, pleasurable experience, or it could hurt like hell. It depended on how the power as called. I was angry, and my power was anything but gentle. A scream burst out from one of my wolves, filled with agony, and i jerked my muzzle from steph's bloody throat, taking a chunk with me. With what strength she had left, she scrambled away from me, out of my reach. I paid her no attention, searching the gathered wolves for the source of that scream. Some of my pack were still in the middle of changing, some had finished and stood staring at me behind hauntingly intelligent wolf eyes. My gaze landed on Chet, my second in command. my eyes narrowed, and i snarled a warning. he had cassidy in his grip, holding her up off the ground by her throat. he held her above his head, displaying just how strong he was. Cassidy had done nothing wrong, aside from being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I rose, pushing to my feet in a fluid motion, and started toward him. The pack parted like the red sea before moses. Blood dropped from Cassidys throat where Chet's claws had pricked her sensitive sin. She was half changed, and still trying to shift, but unable to. Chet's own power was keeping her from finishing. As i neared, Chet replaced her, settling her tenderly on the floor. She whimpered, and burst into their wolf form as soon as Chet was no longer touching her. I snarled, and lunged, missing Chest as he dropped to his knees. the others had spilled into the den, and living room behind chest, getting out of my way. Chet whined softly, and carefully avoided my gaze, as i turned back to face him. he was being careful to show submission, eyes downcast. he whined again, and pleading with me not to lunge. I came to stand in front of him, growling softly, gaze still down, chest spoke. "mistress, the girls have settled their argument, can['t we put this in our past?" He was being cautious. trying to calm me, and not further ignite my temper. stared down at him, quiet. "Rise, second." My thirst for blood had abated, distracted by cassidy's cry of pain.
Chest got slowly to his feet, keeping his gaze down. I turned away from him, and made my way back to the kitchen. the others would take care of the wounded.
