Steve,
I know over the years many people have told you how you have impacted their lives. I'm going to tell you another story.
In Jan of last year, my husband was in a serious car accident. He almost lost his will to fight, but I wouldn't let him. After the 2 hour trip to see him after the accident I hear "Don't Stop" on the hospital radio...or somewhere. It kept me going! During his 3 month absence in our home, that song kept my son inspired too.
When he entered the rehabilitation hospital, I couldn't see him often, as it was 2 hours away, and I had to go back to work. We talked often on the phone, and "Faithfully" became our song at that time. When he returned home to us in March, we had a benefit dance in our honor. The band, not knowing, played "Faithfully". My husband, who chose to be in a wheelchair that night, got up and allowed me to dance with him during that song. Not a dry eye in the house, and flashbulbs galore! It made that night that much better.
I guess what I'm saying is, your music, your words, and your voice helped me through one of the hardest times in my life. When I needed a pickmeup, I put on one of your CD's...and I felt better. I want to thank you for your talents for what you have given the world.
I hope your birthday is everything that you hope it to be, that you spend it with freinds and receive the love that you have given us all those years.
PS..the car? totaled beyond belief. I lost a few tapes, but the two that survived?? "Strang Medicene" and a tape I made of your songs through the years! I think that was sign too..that you were with me in spirit.
