Subject: After-Outpost Thoughts

I want to thank the Texas Rifles for an outstanding weekend. I was honored to serve under Don Tucker's command, and came home having learned that a 1st Sgt in an immersion event spends a lot of time making sure the right people are at the right place, doing the right thing, at the right time.

I've also realized that Outpost included 15 hours of daylight in which 7 skirmishes took place - 5 at the Reb camp, and 2 at the Federal camp. That meant if a guy wasn't standing guard, or building defensive works, he was likely off on patrol or fighting. Not bad.

Lastly, I learned first hand that the concept of "command and control" of even an 8-man platoon is danged near impossible when skirmishing in thickets and creek bottoms.

Hope you guys host this again next year.
