My guess is that they went cheep with the belt and V-twin for production costs and to be able to have competition for the Ultra Classic at a fraction of the cost. The only possibe WOW factor for this bike may be the price if it is cheap enough. Unfortunetly Kawasaki may have done their research on the bike drvelopment talking to the wrong crowd. They failed to realize that the Harley riders really don't like rice burner bikes so it won't impact Harley sales and they sure wern't listning to the Voyager owners that didn't want a V-twin.

If they had built a Goldwing killer out of the 1400 they would have really captured a larger audiance.
