Sure thing Jim, this one's easy. #1 - to the extent that your rear brake pedal is 'above' level with the foot peg, when the bikes on it's centerstand, you will unknowninly be applying higher pressure to the rear brake than you may think. The shop manual shows the correct setting to be when the pedal is level with the peg.
#2 - to adjust this just follow the manual, it may or may not be a little aggravating depending on whether you have to remove the brake cylinder or not. But here, let me defer to Gary Dick, that's the guy I called for help! ('Sorry Gary, I had to be truthful!)
