Oh no, quite the contrary, I have gotten spanked plenty. They just didn't see the value in long term grounding. It doesn't change your attitude, it doesn't improve your state of mind or how you feel internally and all that.

We're playing with words here now, but I seldom if ever got punished, but I got corrected a lot. Meaning it was never a "you did this, now you get spanked for it". It was always a "what could you have done differently, how would you have done it, what would have been the result". Always future focused on what you could have done. And if you did misbehave, the it wasn't so much what you did, but what you could have done instead, and you chose not to do the right thing, and if you make that choice, you choose the consequence that comes with it. And it's over quickly, not drawn out, the slate is cleared and life goes on.
