Subject: To John--Big deal about paddling

I got paddled on the bare butt as did my brothers as we grew up---It was less frequent in high school yrs--but it happened to each of us sometimes. It seemed like a big deal to us. Since it was always on the bare butt that may have made it worse---Frankly, we always felt so guilty and so bad for mom when she had to paddle us--no matter what the age---the quilt was as bad as the pain. Even when dad did the paddling we may have not felt the contrition as with mom--but it was an emotional thing for us---more than just ac hurting bare butt---there was guilt and regret and just a feeling the family was upset---It was a big deal to us. I will say no matter what age--when we got paddled--it brought closure and the anger and hard feeling abated--so we all started new which was very good.
