Waria, banci, bencong, homoseksual, entah apalagi sebutan mereka, banyak wacana homoseksual dilontarkan di dalam masyarakat, yang kemudian sering terungkap adalah sudut pandang dari masyarakat yang mengatakan bahwa homoseksual itu haram, bertentangan dengan agama, penyakit kejiwaan dan penyimpangan seksual.Pada kenyataannya kaum homoseksual sama dengan kaum heteroseksual, mereka berperilaku sama dengan kaum heteroseksual lainya, yang membedakan hanya orientasi seksual mereka. Stigma ini muncul karena di Indonesia homoseksual dianggap sebagai Stereotipe negatif, masyarakat kelas dua. Bagi mereka homoseksual merupakan sebuah pilihan,
saya bukan seorang homoseksual tetapi saya peduli dan sadar atas kehadiaran mereka ditengah-tengah saya, dan saya bersikap menerima mereka apa adanya tanpa melakukan tindakan diskriminasi
foto-foto waria ini saya diambil 3 tahun lalu disebuah perkampungan yogyakarta, bersama NGO yang mendampingi mereka. disana terbentuk komunitas waria-waria yang berbaur bersama warga masyarakat sekitarnya, kebanyakan dari mereka bekerja sebagai seks komersil, melalui pendampingan NGO mereka diharapkan mendapatkan pekerjaan yang lebih layak, sampai saat ini project NGO tersebut masih terus berlangsung
