To drink the water

It couldn’t have been more perfect

we found ourselves
in the longest of bays
where time
held its breath
and love poured
slick
to parched throats

my bare feet
sifted the sand
while the full moon
made our bed

and you…

so tender

made me beautiful

captivating
was the whispering sea
its every syllable
an ebb & flow
surreal
in its blush
enticing
in its tease

and we listened
as it spoke
in a rolling wet kiss
that perpetuated
the bleed of moon
its liquid light
worshipped
our everything

She was pregnant
in her smile
and beamed
knowing
that I’d die
if I couldn’t lick the salt
from your skin

and you breathed life into me

so masculine

were my weakness

there, in the half light
we shared breath
and kissed
the midnight rain
laced as ribbons
aqueous
to the touch

while love, whispered the moon as it fell to water

and I…

so enraptured

was your silken desire

spread beneath you
as lips, closed eyes
and my mouth sang
to the weeping sky
begging it to fill our empty cup
that we may toast
this prelude
