Date Posted: 01:14:33 01/15/08 Tue 'Who am I?' she pondered, as she looked in the shimmering pond, her reflection rippling along with the gentle waves, 'Is she me?' Her reflection only gazed back at her as it mystically danced in the shore stricken waves. 'Is she a part of me?' The forest around her echoed in silence, not much of a sound but the rustle of the leaves in the trees. She looked up towards the tall trees above her, the branches moved with the breeze, mysteriously waving into her heart. She closed her eyes, searching inside, for an answer, for some kind of sign, to show her, to guide her through the storm. But nothing... silence still graced the forest walls, falling over her like a veil of peace. She breathed deeply, looking back into the mirror - like pond, her reflection still the same, still peering back at her. 'Is that really me?' She didn't recognize herself, at least not totally, her eyes seemed faded, her face somewhat pale, and her lips dry and chapped, curved into a slight frown. She pushed her long highlighted hair back behind her ears, rubbed her eyes gently with the back of her hand, licked her lips generously to soothe them, and tried to smile at her reflection but only was able to achieve a half smile. She sighed and looked back to the surrounding trees, 'A few days of rest and I'll be back to myself.' she thought as she folded her hands together, 'Whoever that is.' she added. The trees around her seemed to embrace her as they danced with the breeze, and as if to answer her she heard a whisper in the wind, she couldn't make out the words but she felt calmed, relaxed, as though she had just drank some soothing hot tea. In any case she felt better, and her reflection now smiled back at her, and a cascade of serenity blanketed her, she was ok now, for the time being, she was ok. jah 2004 [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
