Your tired paws
stumble upon unknown turf. You gaze in awe around you, mystified by the land's
vivid beauty. Eyes look to the right. Then to the left. An eagle soars
majestically overhead. It gives a high shrill cry, almost as if to alert the
land of your presence. You stare at it for a while, amazed by how effortlessly
it glides through the air. You then blink as it disappears behind the tall
forest canopy. Limbs carry you forward, when something inside you makes you
stop. You turn around. Standing before you are two wolves. One, you notice, by
it's fine features and relaxed eyes, is a female. She bows before you, and you
automatically do the same. Hello, stranger. I am Aiyanda, ruler of Alpine
Mountains. This is Zev, alpha male of the Arctic Tundra. You are welcome in
these lands, stranger, if you bring no harm with you. If you are foe, I advise
you that you turn around an leave, as my wolves don't take nonsense from
trouble-makers. We've had quite enough of that.
Her words were firm, but not
harsh. With that the two alphas bow, then leave, disappearing once more down
into the valley, leaving you to make your choice. Will you stay or will you
flee?
