The war in Vietnam had no affect on U.S. involvement in the current dealings with Iraq. I believe that jus like during the Vietnam war American troops are being sent to die for absolutley no reason because as soon as the troops were pulled out of Vietnam, it became communist. The whole point in sending troops to vietnam was to stop the spread of communism. After several years of American troops sacrificing theirs lives for their country, the only thing the US accomplished was a major decrease in military population. Everyday more and more innocent soldiers are leaving their loved ones behind because the pride they hold for their country is inmense. But little do they kno that the country they are choosing to lose their life for is making the same mistake they made during the Vietnam Era; their being sent to die with no purpose wat so ever, because in the end Iraq is going to do what it desires with its government.
