He was always great, often in small uncredited roles.

One of his many memorable appearances was as the man in the restaurant in Half-Shot Shooters (1936), enjoying a hearty meal until that dog comes along! He chases down the fellas and gets his revenge by tricking them into re-enlisting in the Army. Back in the clutches of ole Sergeant MacGillicuddy!
