Subject: Outer Space Jitters (1957)

Outer Space Jitters is a fun Stooges short with Larry Fine, Moe Howard and Joe Besser.

Professor Jones (Emil Sitka) and his three aides, Larry, Moe and Joe, land on the planet Sunev (Venus spelled backwards) where they are introduced to the Grand Zilch of Sunev (Gene Roth).

The Grand Zilch shows Professor Jones one of their prehistoric zombies, which the Stooges call The Goon. The Sunevians intend to use an army of these monsters to destroy the Earth. Dan Blocker (billed as Don Blocker for some unknown reason) does a great job as The Goon, wearing makeup that includes sharp teeth, a broad nose, big ears and bushy eyebrows. The heavyset actor would later find fame as Hoss Cartwright on television’s long running Bonanza series.

Some favorite moments:

The Stooges meet three beautiful alien girls, but finds kissing them to be a shocking experience.

"Eenie meenie miney moe...I'm Moe, you're for me!"

Moe thinks Larry and Joe want to play Charades.

Larry reads the stock market figures from a ticker tape.

Joe knocks out the Grand Zilch of Sunev.

Back on Earth the boys are telling the story of their outer space adventure to their kids when the babysitter arrives.
