11 acres is quite a chunk of grass and whatever you buy needs to be powerful enough for the job. Don't buy a little dinky garden ride on and expect it to cope. It won't. If you buy a decent sized compact tractor (20hp +) you can use it for other things apart from grass cutting (eg with a front loader, pulling a trailer etc). Combine this with a rotary mower (72" say, mid mounted or trailed). John Deere and Kubota do a range of compact tractors and decks. Phone your local authorised dealers (see their websites to find these) and get their advice. Get their brochures and price list and see what your options are. They might even have secondhand machinery for sale. JD and Kubota dealers have a reputation to maintain so they shouldn't sell you a pup. Also ask about service costs and spares availability.
