Why not compile a list of local nurseries/garden centres you wouldn't mind working for. To do this use directories such as Yellow Pages and the latest edition of The Plant Finder (buy it or try your local library, they should have a copy). Put together a decent cv and send it with a covering letter to every firm on your list. You might want to get some advice (from your local Jobcentre maybe)about writing a good cv. Follow up your letter with a telephone call or (even better, it shows enthusiasm, which potential employers are very keen on!) a personal visit. You could also contact Berkshire College of Agriculture and Horticulture (Tel: 01628 824444) to see if they know of any vacancies.
