Subject: Tuesday, and a ? on testing

Love this new format!!! Thank you, Wendy!!!
Willow, that recipe sounds great!

I have a question for all of you. I just went to the doc today. My chol. numbers are all great--total 164. And the rest are where they should be. But my A1C number was 6.4. The doc doesn't have me testing at all, he says he is saving my fingers from scarring. He wants me to loose some weight and continue bringing my BS numbers down. Does anyone else NOT have to test?
Laurel

when I was first diagnosed I didn't test. In fact I brought it up to my doctor and talked her into it. I would say if I tested frequently it would help me more. I just have to get into a cycle of testing. I can't remember anything. I have to take my meds all at one time or I will forget.
My aunt doesn't test at all. her doctor said she didn't need to. I guess it is up to your doctor. If you want to test then go ahead and insist on it. don't let him talk you out of it.
