Subject: Monks Doc

saw the monks documentary "the transatlantic feedback" which ran yesterday as part of san francisco's "berlin & beyond" film festival... i thought it was very good. Lots of unseen photos and interviews with monks, their producers and fantastic footage of german artist charles wilp who made AMAZING TV ADS in the 60's for 'afri-cola' and had hoped to use the monks to make the music for his ads. HAd Beat Club live footage from 1966 which was visually/audio wise the best version i'd seen, may have been remastered or maybe they got the original tapes.... It follows the band from army induction - through 1999 cavestomp reunion...(already time for a sequel with all the recent shows!) Eddie was there for Q&A meet n greet - good size crowd for a 3pm weekday show...lots of hipster rocker types and older folks too who just seemed curious by what they had read about in the program. Well Done Ditmar et al...I guess it may be available within the coming year on DVD. look for it... kelley
