Just want to say how awesome it is to find a forum/home for Monks fans--one in which the Monks themselves participate!
After playing my recording of BMT almost to death (for truly, it cannot die!), I recently acquired the 5 Upstart Americans disc and have been playing it almost non-stop at work (with occasional interludes of Charles Ives, Joy Division and the Modern Lovers).
I recently acquired my theological status from the Universal Life Church website (www.ulc.org). They are a very groovy group that believes that intent is sufficent to be a minister/reverend.
I believe that music is joy and pain in equal measure. And that shared pain is lessened whilst shared joy is increased.
