Subject: New Monk Fan

i dont know exactly what it was, but on one of my usual quests for music knowledge i was doing some heavy research into 60s garage bands, and came accross some note somewhere of the monks being the earliest known permutation of punk music, so i did a search on the monks and the rest is history man...i discovered the website and a million others, read all the histories and reviews, listened to the samples and fuckin boggled my mind hearing complication and monk time. so then i went on an extensive search of the downloading programs and got all the songs on black monk time, and ive been spreading the monks gospel ever since. the music you guys made is some supreme powerful amazing shit man..whenever your banjo clacking starts picking up like at the beginings of monk time and shut up, it gives me the chills..the entire album is like a miracle of rock n roll...its 60s to the max, and yet it seems to me as though you monks incorporated a multitude if styles that didnt even really exist yet...like i cant get over you is a very reaggae style song with its sharp stabs of guitar on a wiggling bassline...i hate you is like a psychadelic jam, oh how to do now is FAST as hell, complication is a pure 60s garage rocker but so fuckin hard man, too hard for those times....anyways..its your music, you know it...i just wanted to rant a little to you about how much i love you bastards and thank you for what you created, and i promise to buy the album and make you some money one day. im in a garage rock n roll band myself and you monks are a real inspiration to me and my band...we try to bring that same sense of truth and feeling to our music that i feel is almost completely devoid in todays music world...when i jam i think of you guys.
