Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
GOD DECLARES THAT JESUS IS A SAVIOUR:
Acts 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
TRINITY ARGUMENT: GOD CLAIMS TO BE ISRAEL'S ONLY SAVIOUR;
JESUS IS CALLED A SAVIOUR, THEREFORE HE MUST BE GOD:
REBUTTAL: LOOK AGAIN AT THE SCRIPTURES UNDER CONSIDERATION:
God had "raised up" saviours before, when Israel rebelled and got themselves into trouble, and repented.
Neh 9:27 Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.
THIS:
Isa 43:11 ... beside me there is no saviour.
IS NOT EQUAL TO THIS:
Acts 5:31 Him ..God exalted..to be a ..Saviour.
THIS:
Acts 5:31 Him ..God exalted..to be a ..Saviour.
IS EQUAL TO THIS:
Neh 9:27 thou gavest them saviours
THE SIGNIFICANCE OF INTENT EXPRESSED BY "TO BE":
Act 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand TO BE a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
The passage says that Jesus WAS RAISED "TO BE" a saviour. He was not raised because he was (already) a saviour, but with the purpose in mind that he would become a saviour.
PAUL SAYS SALVATION IS OF THE JEWS:
Jon 4:22 ... salvation is of the Jews.
THE PSALMIST SAYS SALVATION IS OF GOD:
Psa 68:20 He that is our God is the God of salvation....
LUKE SAYS SALVATION IS OF GOD:
Luk 3:6 And all flesh shall see the salvation (which is) of God.
AND WE UNDERSTAND FROM ISAIAH, THAT GOD IS OUR SALVATION:
Isa 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation......
GOD REVEALS THAT SALVATION IS IN AND OF HIMSELF;
BUT IT IS ALSO OF THE JEWS.
DOES THIS MAKE THEM EQUAL SOURCES OF SALVATION?
DOES THIS MEAN THAT GOD IS A JEW?
OR THAT THE JEWS ARE GOD?
THIS:
GOD IS THE SALVATION OF ISRAEL;
IS NOT EQUAL TO THIS:
SALVATION IS OF THE JEWS------
THE FACT THAT GOD RAISED JESUS TO BE A SAVIOUR,
DOES NOT MAKE JESUS GOD.
THEY ARE NOT EQUIVALENT TERMS
