Subject: The Terrifying Gambler

Competing in the Monte Carlo Rally, Speed and Trixie navigate the Mach Five through the Alpine mountains during a treacherous snowstorm. Suddenly they encounter a car driven by a sinister looking older man sporting a beard and a monocle. Brandishing a gun, he stops Speed and Trixie and forces them to drive him into Monte Carlo. When Speed and Trixie go to police headquarters to report the incident, they learn that the culprit is Mr Fastbucks, an infamous gambler who is currently on a winning streak at the roulette tables.

Later Speed goes to confront Mr Fastbucks at the hotel where he is staying . The ensuing battle between Speed and the terrifying gambler is followed by a suspenseful chase sequence through the halls of the hotel. Speed Racer demonstrates his physical agility, and proves that his courage is not limited to the driver's seat of the Mach Five. He eventually escapes the hotel, which seems to be entirely staffed by henchmen working for Mr Fastbucks.

Meanwhile the Monte Carlo Grand Prix race is about to start, and Speed is nowhere to be found. He is back in the clutches of Mr Fastbucks, who has hatched a diabolical plot to attain great wealth and power. Thankfully it's Trixie, Sparky, Spritle and Chim Chim to the rescue, and another evil scheme is foiled. Speed is back in time for the Grand Prix race, but will his navigator be Sparky or Trixie?
