Well, Shit!!!,
I'm so sorry to have had to miss this reunion. Just "make'n hay while the sun shines" You know?
My thoughts were with all of you the entire week end...and I really enjoyed being woken up at 1:30am (Charlotte time) and getting to speak with a few of you on the phone. ( M. Beasley-..I do remember the backyard campout and the tent...!!!!! )
Hope to make the 40th.. but, putting a date on a calendar changes a lot for me these days,... so maybe I'll have see you from a screen somewhere looking back.
Movie wise, up next for me will be "THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON" in December with Brad Pitt. I play a Priest.

More Post Reunion Note: -- Thom Porter, 18:36:23 06/17/08 Tue [1]
Thanks again to everyone who worked on making the 35th Lee HS Reunion a great success. Everyone was so beautiful.
It was great to see "Jack" Teresa St John recovering so strongly from leukemia. Wow, what a fighter and an awesome person of faith. I hope everyone took a little time to talk with her. The "DANCE TEAM" was awesome.
There were a couple of classmates I missed. Ricky Lenard, Tana Kaye (McKenzie) Lane and Elaine (Stewart) Maples. I know each of us have more to add. Hopefully everyone will be there for the 40th Class Reunion.
Maybe, Slenda Osborne can bring back "The A Cappella Choir" or maybe the "Bob Carol Singers" to sing something from 1973.
Love and Blessings, Thom

- Post Reunion Note -- Ranny Vinson, 07:02:14 06/17/08 Tue [1]
It was really good to see all of you again at the reunion. The events were great and a lot of fun, but to me, getting to see and talk to you was the best part. It will take a few days to adjust, but right now I'm kinda lost...I feel like I need to call Steve or Barbara and make sure we have everything ready.
Thanks to those of you who attended and made this reunion a success. You never let us down and always show up. We kept saying "Build it, and they will come", and you did.
And to the committee, who without hesitation, jumped into this in February and did the job that had to be done, YOU ARE TRULY THE BEST! This group made the task seem simple, and they never stopped. Thank you for your efforts, and just being special people. We really had fun, and have already started emails on the 40th.
Bev will keep the website up and running and we will use it to stay in touch and post any new info. She should have pictures from the reunion posted in a few weeks.
Take care, and stay in touch!!
Ranny Vinson

- 35th Class Reunion -- Greg Duke, 08:04:56 06/16/08 Mon [2]
I would like to thank every member of the reunion for a job well done [again]. We are blessed with such a talented and hardworking group that performs at such a high level for our class. The 35th was terrific, beginning with the Bulldog Classic golf tournament, and ending with the Saturday night program. I think our teachers said it best, so I will differ to Coach Dugan and Mrs. Faulkner. Coach Dugan spoke to the golfers on Friday, and told us "you will forget about the scores, the wins and losses, but it is all about relationships". Mrs. Faulker, during her Saturday night speech, talked about "the love that the class of 1973 has for each other". These two summarize the specialness of our class. I look forward to our next annual Bulldog golf tournament, and, our 40th. Go Lee Generals.

It was great seeing all of you at the reunion last night. Thanks for letting us lower underclassmen tag along. It was so good to see friends that I haven't seen in decades. So nice to know you are all still in the world and doing great. Hope to see many of you again next year at our 35th. Like always, it was a blast going to one of your parties.

- Am I too late? -- Michelle Toney Camper (Psyched), 12:17:25 06/11/08 Wed [1]
Hello, all. I was just browsing the LHS '73 website, and can barely contain myself. I have just learned that I will be available to attend the Saturday events, and plan to get on the phone immediately to see whether I can still register to hook up with you all this weekend. I moved back to Huntsville from Texas almost four years ago, having retired as a paralegal. I am married to David Camper (LHS Class of '70), Charlotte Camper's brother. We dated in high school and, in 2000, he looked me up after 27 years. I lived in North Carolina, and he lived in Atlanta. We will celebrate our seventh wedding anniversary this coming July. I currently minister to (and am enriched by) the elderly. I spend my discretionary time practicing Pilates and Yoga. Because my husband cannot come with me on Saturday, I plan to bring my daughter, Joanna, who is 26 and a Pilates instructor in Athens, Tennessee, where she lives with her husband and my three year old granddaughter, Kayleigh. She looks exactly as I did when I was a young woman. Sooo, if you don't recognize me, you will certainly recognize Joanna. Your first thought will probably be, "Oh, Michelle Toney has come, and she brought her grandmother with her." If it is too late for me to register, I would love to hear from any or all of you. My phone number is 256-539-4598. Hope to see you all on Saturday.
Namaste
Michelle

Looking forward to the weekend! Kandice and I live in Birmingham now although we spend a lot of time in New Orleans helping to babysit two grandsons (3 and almost 1). I spoke to Minos this morning; he's even more fired up than usual (and we all know how fired up he gets!). Thanks for all the pics, Bev! Stirred up a lot of old memories...

Hey everyone,
Can't wait to see you NEXT weekend! It seems like such a short time since our 30th reunion - how time flies.
My husband and I now live in West Africa, our eleventh move in 32 years. My husband, Steve, is searching for oil here in Nigeria. We live in a Chevron camp in Lagos. Our girls are 26 and 24. Erin, the oldest, is married and a fashion designer in NYC. Sarah is in graduate school at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. We still call CA our home. Following the reunion, I will spend the summer at our home in Dana Point with my mom and Sarah.

- dress code -- karen simpson, 17:11:25 05/14/08 Wed [1]
Thank you, thank you for clarifying the dress code situtation. Here on the West coast, business casual can mean shorts and a clean t-shirt. I have seen women at a semi-formal event or a funeral in jeans and flip-flops!! Thanks again for the update

- Can't Wait!!! -- Neil Buettner, 19:09:24 05/11/08 Sun [2]
Wendi and I continue living in Paris....TN. We will be soon have one less in the home as our daughter Sloan will be joining her sister Anna @ Bama. That leaves a son Blain,15, and our youngest Claire,4, @ home. Matt is 24, in Seattle and somewhat off the payroll.
Excitement is building surrounding the reunion. Confederettes doing a routine to "Shaft". Does it get any better than that? Rumor has it that Andrew and the White BoyZ will be making a repeat performance... just a rumor though.
Bev...I read your suggested dress for Saturday night. How do shorts and a "I Need More Cowbell" t-shirt fit into those suggestions? Actually, after 35 years I have a new Rolling Stones tee that I've been waiting for the right occasion to wear.

Whatever Shall I Wear????? -- Beverly Bendiks, 21:18:45 05/09/08 Fri [1]
Some people have been asking about the "business casual" attire for Saturday night mentioned on the registration form. "The Commish" has clarified this for us: For Saturday night, it is suggested that women might want to wear a dress or dressy pantsuit. Men could choose a nice slacks and shirt combo; jacket and tie are groovy, but optional. This event is neither formal, nor semi-formal, but comparable to dinner attire at a restaurant fancier that Mullins. Hope this helps. blb

- confederate dancing dolls -- Theresa Taylor Kelly, 06:34:02 05/08/08 Thu [1]
Get ready girls, get on your dancing shoes for we are going to rock the house. Don't worry, the routine that I choreographed is not hard. Perhaps the ones that are intrested in learning the Shaft routine can meet at the hotel that Friday or Saturday morning. It will only take about 1 hour to learn it. It is 1min and 58 sec. long. No big deal. wear comfortable shoes. If any of you have a better suggestion on where to meet to practice, just let me know. This will be fun!!!!Theresa Taylor Kelly

- Update of Jeff Church -- Heather Richardson, 13:44:31 04/22/08 Tue [1]
HEllo- This is Heather Richardson, I am Jeff Church's daughter. I saw this site and talked to dad and asked him if he would like for me to give a shout out for him and he wanted me too. I think that most of you know that dad (Jeff) had a stoke in July 07, it was a massive one at that. He is doing really well considering how big of a stroke. He goes to rehab in Athens 2 days a week. He is slowly getting movement back in his leg and a little in his arm. The speech is really slow. Please keep him in your prayers. HE and his wife Lisa are planning on coming to the reunion in June!!!

- Forget Plastics..... I need an oil derrick or two -- Stan Chunn, 09:38:04 04/17/08 Thu [1]
I Can't believe its time for another reunion. Why it only seems like 5 years ago we had a reunion to end all reunions. I guess not, huh?
I've been pretty busy. For example, right now I'm watching some workers install a brand spanking new 1000 gallon epoxy coated (sorry, Ranny...no plastics) Propane gas tank in my backyard. Man, is this exciting or what? I may go get a bag of cheetos to eat while I watch them work.
So,if I don't show at the next reunion, Ranny, you make sure that Vandiver sticks with Shirley Temples this time.
later

- just checking in. -- karen ritenour simpson, 13:24:00 04/13/08 Sun [1]
Hello everyone from the soggy Pacific Northwest. I plan on being there in June because I was COMMANDED to be there by Debbie Rhoden Atkinson. Linda Bowman Warden and Larry Bowman might be there also. They are still in Michigan and I just saw them in Feb. of 2007. The last time I was in town was March of 2004.
I wasn't at the 30th, I came into town for the 20th, so I haven't had a lot of contact with people except for my family and the aforementioned individuals.
We (meaning Joe, Patrick and I ) have lived in Tacoma, WA for the past 19 years. Before that, we were in San Diego. Patrick is now 23 and married--no grandkids for us yet, just a "granddog". Joe works for the State Patrol and I am a volunteer at a high school. Last year I was Volunteer of the Year for Pierce County for my work with teenagers who are homeless, medical fragile or other wise challenged in their school attendence. I don't work now because I am disabled, but I still get around and contribute to society and the economy by shopping with gusto!
I am looking forward to coming to the events and catching up with everyone. I dug out my old annual and plan to read it. I am hoping that jogs my memory, I seem to forget more and more the older I get. See you in June.
Karen
