I am 54 years old and in a long term hetero relationship but have had spanking relationships with both genders.
As a child I was spanked mostly by my mom until about the age of ten although it was often threatened beyond that age and i have no doubt that had i misbehaved sufficiently I would have found myself face down acroos her knee until I was into my mid-teens. At school I was spanked on a fairly regular basis by the teachers until I left school at 14.
I have engaged in consensual spanking throughout my life from the age of about 11 onwards both as a top and as a bottom, I much prefer getting my butt spanked to spanking somebody elses butt though.
