You mentioned going to fetch the hairbrush. Did you dawdle on the way back or ever think of hiding it? Daughter told me she told her mom she couldn't find it only to be told "don't let me find it for you." Girl got it, but her mom relented and gave her a few swats and sent her away. Then laughed out of earshot.
